Dr. Filip Andjelkovic is a writer of cultural criticism specializing in psychoanalysis and critical theory. His most recent publications sort through the trash bin of contemporary culture: adult magazines, sex simulation software, pornographic physical media, brainrot memes, influencers, and online fascist aesthetics.
Filip’s dissertation explored the psychological and political consequences of algorithmic visual culture - the prioritization of virality and the ensuing normalization of extreme content. He is currently co-writing a book on psychoanalysis and horror cinema.
Filip has taught at the University of Toronto in the Department for the Study of Religion where he currently holds the position of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream.
